 After pandemic I have seen many people getting too much cautious about their health. On social platforms people constantly ask about benefits of different fruits and vegetables. I have written about few fruits and dried fruits, such as olives, oranges, strawberry etc. 

Here today I am going to write about health benefits of Figs. Figs are one of the most commonly found fruits around the globe. I don't know any such place where fresh or dried figs are not available. These belong to Mulberry family and can be used in both dried and fresh form. However fresh figs can get rotten in 3 to 4 days but dried figs can be used throughout the year.

Figs have many essential nutrients for us. For so many daily work we are required to have good supply of nutrients, so it is really important to have a good source of nutrients efficient food. One of these nutrients efficient food is fig. Following are the nutrients that are found in abundance in figs:

1) Relives Constipation


Figs are one of the best natural solutions to our gut health, and the major gut issue that is commonly found is constipation. Figs are good source of fiber and potassium, which is very effective in relief of constipation and helps in maintaining overall health of our digestive track.

We all know fiber is a vital element to keep the movement of food long our guy in good form. Therefore figs being a good source of fiber relieves constipation and helps in smooth movement of food around our gut.

So for those who face low bone density should use figs on daily basis keeping in view any allergies or any digestive issues. 

For old people who might have high blood pressure issues can consume dried figs soaked overnight and with a glass of milk if that is digestible to them but soaked overnight is a must. This will dilute the energy constant in figs that will help in maintaining the blood pressure. It is also advice able to use just one fig for the patients of high blood pressure and soaked in water overnight.


4) Alzheimer's reduction.


Latest research shows that people who used figs in their daily diets begin gaining their brain memory cells and reduced the Alzheimer's issues.

But it is really notable that if you are using some sort of blood thinner medicine they will NOT work effectively when figs are used. Therefore if your are in medications for high blood pressure and blood thickness then FIRST REFER TO YOUR PHYSICIAN .

It is not necessary to wait for the disease to happen but you should keep your health up before such issues strike your body. Every person should be aware that as the age increases our body health start to detoriate so we should always be prepared before any health issues start to show up.


USAGE


Figs are used in many dishes and fruit salads. 

You can add them in fruit salad, cream salad, and as topping on food starters.

These figs are an important ingredient in natural protein bars which is made from nuts. Figs and dates give the binding effect in these bars and add more nutrition with their individual benefits.


Figs can be eaten as a fruit and as dried fruit. Fresh figs can be used only in their season but dried figs can be stored for whole year in air tight, moist free container. Hence can be enjoyed whole year.


I some countries you will find figs bread and cake. They use figs like raisins and other dried fruits and bake bread and cake which looks really appetizing.

Fig jam is also made, it is bit crunchy due to the seeds in it but fully nutritious and tastes really good. It is a great breakfast and a natural sweetener in breakfast and snack time.

You can even make fig milk shakes and have them as protein shake, or iron shake. You can also add dates, cashews and any fresh fruit to give you full nutritious drink . This can be used in quick breakfast recipes too.


Dried figs can be used by soaking overnight in summers because of their high energy contents. Other wise they might give you heat strikes or high blood pressure according to the temperature in your area.

 

Figs can be used as remedy of constipation, low bone density, and Alzheimer's. So it CAN be used as a medicine but after discussion with your physician.

Figs can be essential if they are taken in a moderate form everyday. One or two daily is enough, dried ones. But fresh fruit whole can be used one every two days.

However if you don't want to get to the point of low body health, it is important to keep good healthy foods in your daily routine. These figs can be carried in a hand bag or pocket for busy routine.

So these are the benefits and usage of figs. They play an important role in healthy living. But remember to see physician if you want them for cure of any medical condition. And remember to completely avoid them if you feel any allergies or have already any allergies from them.
