Yes these seeds are the biggest source of calcium for birds specifically parrots of all types. The complete black shelled seed is basically harvested as bird food. But all the types of seeds can be edible by human too.

1) Proteins

Selenium found in sunflower seeds is also an essential element in fighting infections in our body  therefore it is important to have these seeds for women during periods and after delivery.

 It can also reduce the infection caused by flu and sore throat. 

Few more important features which most nuts share are lower levels of cholesterol and defeating cardiovascular disturbances. Yes these tiny seeds can help to give you a healthy heart. It is also recommended in lowering the levels of cholesterol in our blood thus resulting in lower blood pressures. 


4) Vitamins 

Along withe these essential elements in sunflower seeds there is a good quantity of vitamin E, B1, and B6. That means you can also get all the benefits of vitamins along with proteins, selenium, and zinc. Still some percentage of iron and potassium are also found in these seeds.
