In this age we have got into so many ready made and easy to use things that these have turned into a curse for us. We have become lazy and so medicine dependent that little bit of weather or seasonal changes cause a wave of health issues. Every new season comes with the issues like flu, fever, diarrhea etc.

So today we are going to see what were some old methods that kept our ancestors immune to weather or seasonal changes. My parents still have lesser seasonal flu, lesser fever, and sore throat just because of some sour food , or cold eatables in winter like yogurt, or lemon.

So let's have a look on how our elders made themselves strong from inside.

1) Honey

Honey

We all know that honey is the syrup that is fermented by flower through honey bees. They make this syrup by fully organic flowers. No artificial flavours, no preservatives, and no expiry date, ( real honey can be kept for a very long time).

So what do you think how much benefits it will contain. Honey is full of so many nutrients that they can not be collectively summarize here. It is found in old manuscript, old medical tips, it was used to cure most of winter issues ( fever, flu, cough ). It won't be wrong to say that since the human life on this planet, honey is a vital food for the survival.

Hence honey contains following elements and nutrients:,

Honey

As you see that Honey contains so many vital nutrients that we need to have everyday. Our body needs minerals and vitamins on daily bases. So what better it would be to have some thing sweet, and natural to strengthen our immunity system. Honey is essential for digestive system, as it contains many enzymes that helps digest food efficiently. It also keeps the ionization neutral as it is a natural antioxidant. It keeps our blood purified from different harmful elements and reduce the risk of high cholesterol levels and diabetes.

Honey is a natural sweetener so it can be effectively used by diabetic patients, without any risk of high sugars in blood. Having a glass of Luke warm water with honey ( and lemon if you like) on empty stomach in the morning have so many health benefits. It is proven that this water helps to regulate body excretions, you get rid of constipation, indigestion, acidity, intestinal worms, bloating etc.

You can find many evidence of using olive oil for different issues like, joint pain, muscular sprain, skin moisturizer, hair moisturizer. The fruit was a very important item on the table of rich people as it helped them in digestion of food, and solved many digestive issues.

My mom had a paralysis attack in 2012 on the right side from her spinal cord and her mom ( my mom's mom)told us to use olive oil for the stiff muscles. Massaging olive oil everyday on my mom's muscle gave them new life. She was able to recover from stiffness in just two months, and was able to walk and use her hand better than when attack happened. It didn't complete expell the paralysis effect but reduce it to much lower levels. ( This doesn't mean that we quit using medicines. Also consent your doctor for this purpose first.)

Olive oil

Not only for stiff muscles, or joint pain, using olive oil as salad dressing is also very advisable. This not only increase the nutrition level of your meal but also maintain the inner health in many other ways.

4) Bone Broth

Bone broth

So here this is , this is really important. Bone broth is just like getting some spare parts for your natural body without the use of iron or any metal.  Bone Broth have all the components that a bone requires, with all the enzymes, minerals, and so much more.

I remember my mother-in-law used to make bone broth daily when my husband had a fracture in his leg. ( He had an accident on motorbike). He had major fracture, and to overcome the pain and quick recovery my mother-in-law used to cook bone broth regularly for about 3 months. She would use the most bony part of goat meat , like neck meat, or the joints from leg meat . This helped my husband in a great way , he didn't gained too much of weight as he had plaster all over his leg up to thighs and movement was just enough to go to washroom.

Bone broth

Researching about bone broth the other day I found that it is not only helpful for bones but it has many other health benefits.

Improves gut health

Good source of proteins

Improves bone marrow functioning

Helps in increasing blood hemoglobin

Improves bone density

It helps in weight reduction

Maintains intestinal health

Helps in liver working

It can be used as a full meal to reduce weight because it contains all the necessary nutrients and has the fats that make you ful. It can be used to avoid heavy meals and reduce fatigue or muscle weakness due to excessive dieting. It should definitely be part of diet for people who do vigorous exercises, or lift heavy weights.

Bone broth can be used through out the year. Many nutritionist believe that having a mug of warm bone broth on empty stomach helps you gain more nutrition throughout the day. In summers you can replace your morning tea, or coffee with bone broth and have a better start of morning.

5) Fresh Fruits

Mixed fruits

It is not something hidden , zillion of times dietitians, nutritionist, and even our parents recommend us to add fresh fruits to our everyday life.

We are habitual of adding an on the go burger, sandwich, or donuts to our diet, but we cannot add apples, guavas, mix fruits salad bowl, grapes, or something that you can eat in the go. We can open a pack of chips for munching, but we will not eat apricots, or peaches, or berries for munching.

My grand mother and my mother-in-law all have always given me one advise when I become a mother, that is, to replace all biscuits, chips, box juices with fresh fruits, dry fruits, and fresh juices and milk. This have become my favorite combination.

Mixed fruits

I know it easier to get a pack of biscuits and get rid of untimely hunger of kids, but we need to realize that growing, and become an adult, or getting into some sports, or even getting married needs internal health at higher level. This higher level never comes from a packet of biscuits or chips.

I don't say that completely cut off these things from your life and from your kids life, but they are just enjoyments, change of taste things, you cannot make them your routine. These things can be once in a week like Sunday, or Saturday movie night type of things .

Eating fruits daily not only helps to strengthen the inner body but external body too. It improves skin texture, it gives your skin a natural glow. It changes your body odor to better smell. For women is helps to change your vaginal smell and acidity levels. Fresh fruits , and daily intake of fruits helps in improving reproductive organs health too. But it is advisable to consult your gynecologist or physicist.

Talking about nutrition level of fresh fruits, you can visit my many articles about food benefits and health care.

And some more general tips.

So these are some really useful things to add to your daily routine. Here are now some miscellaneous tips for your overall good health.

 - add some exercises like yoga, walking, cardio, swimming, or any other outdoor sports in your life and you will see how good you feel.

- resolve your stress issues and depression by not just spending alone time but by spending time with kids playing in streets, help some needy, sit by some old person randomly in garden and have some life tips and listen to some interesting moments. Your life will be much happier.

-You can take time to work for yourself and our family but you cannot take time to make memories with them and that's the biggest reason of increasing depression and sadness in our life.

Today's youngsters don't have any amazing fun stories to tell to their friends or any new neighbors, or even their future kids. We need to work on this, and this can only happen when you are not tired by your daily office routine. This will happen only by good inner health. And good positive vibes about people around you.

It will increase your immunity, but also your stamina physically and mentally. You will feel less stressed, lesser tired, and full of energy all the day. Positivity is the best element for ourselves otherwise using healthy food only with depressed brain will never give you good results, instead you will get boared for making efforts for yourself.
